What ingredients do you need to cook BBQ chicken tenders? (recipe for 4 servings)

Raw Chicken Tenders and Chicken Strips

1) 1 kg/35 oz of chicken tenders or chicken strips
2) some salt and ground black pepper to taste
3) 2 tsp of olive oil
4) 1/2 tsp of dried rosemary powder
5) 1/2 tsp of ginger powder
6) 1/2 tsp of garlic powder or 2 crushed/minced/finely chopped garlic cloves

Total Time: 15 minutes

1) Prepare chicken tenders or chicken strips for marinating

Unpack chicken tenders or boneless chicken breast and it into thin strips with a sharp knife, then place them into a bowl.

2) Prepare the grilled chicken marinade

Pour olive oil into a small bowl, season it with salt and ground black pepper, add the rosemary, ginger, and garlic powder, then whisk the ingredients to combine them very well.

3) Marinate the chicken tenders or chicken strips

Pour the marinade over the chicken and rub each piece to get the flavors better inside.

4) Allow chicken to soak up the flavors

Cover the bowl with cling film and place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours or even overnight to allow enough time for the chicken to absorb the marinade flavors.

5) Prepare the barbecue for grilling

Start the grill and wait until the coals have turned into hot embers or the gas grill has reached the optimum temperature.

6) Grill the chicken tenders or chicken strips

Place chicken tenders on the grill and wait for 3-5 minutes, depending on their size and thickness, then turn them over and continue to grill for 2-3 minutes or until the chicken strips are evenly roasted.

8 PRO Tips For The BBQ Chicken Tenders Recipe

  • chicken tenders are the best for this recipe because this muscle is very tender, but if you don’t have them at hand you can use chicken breast that you need to cut into strips and turn into “chicken fingers”
  • if you don’t like rosemary, you can replace it with the Provence spice mix, which is a combination of more spicy herbs that fits perfectly with chicken
  • if you like spicy food, add 1/2 tsp of hot chili pepper powder to the marinade
  • place the chicken at the barbecue only after the coals have turned into smoldering embers because then the heat is perfect for grilling the chicken breast
  • summertime you can add fresh lemon juice from about half a lemon to the marinade for more acidity and a slightly sour flavor that creates a feeling of coolness (this is a Greek-style ingredient)
