  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 piece red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 piece green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 piece small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 piece cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 piece green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, ginger, and black pepper. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over high heat. Add sliced beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • Add sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, and garlic to the same skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add soy sauce mixture and stir to combine.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the beef is cooked through.
  • Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry and stir to combine.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

Cooking Tips for the Best Results:
  1. Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the beef sirloin. This will help it cook quickly and evenly.
  2. Prepping all the ingredients ahead of time and having them ready to go will make this recipe come together even faster.
