- 10 oz beef stew (leftover beef stew or canned beef stew)
- 7 oz grated cheese (Parmesan, Cheddar, Gruyere)

- place the beef stew into a tall heat-proof dish.
- add the boiled pasta over the beef stew and combine the ingredients well.
- place the dish into the preheated oven at 180C/360F for about 20-25 minutes or until the beef stew lowers.
- sprinkle grated cheese over the pasta beef casserole into a layer, then place back the dish into the oven at 250C/390F or until the cheese layer on top is golden.
- turn the oven off and wait at least 15 minutes before serving the casserole to harden the cheese on top and to absorb the sauce into the pasta.
Notes
Cooking Tips for the Best Results:
- Cook the pasta until al dente: Overcooked pasta can become mushy and affect the texture of the casserole. Be sure to cook the pasta just until it is al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
- Sauté the vegetables before adding them to the casserole: If you want, you can add more vegetables to this recipe. Sautéing the vegetables before adding them to the casserole can help to enhance their flavor and texture. It also helps to ensure that they are cooked evenly throughout.
- Use a flavorful tomato sauce: If the stew has a little sauce or you are going to use other beef leftovers such as roast, it is advisable to add some additional tomato sauce. A good quality tomato sauce can make all the difference in this dish. Look for a sauce that is rich and flavorful, and has a good balance of sweetness and acidity.
- Add some cheese: Cheese is a great way to add flavor and creaminess to this dish. Consider adding a layer of grated cheese on top of the casserole before baking, or stirring in some shredded cheese into the pasta mixture.
- Let the casserole rest before serving: Allowing the casserole to rest for a few minutes before serving can help the flavors to meld together and make it easier to serve. It also helps to prevent the casserole from falling apart when you slice it.
