What ingredients do you need for the homemade beef stew recipe?

Beef Neck

1) 3.5 kg/125 oz of the beef neck or another juicy beef cut
2) 1 kg of yellow onions, chopped
3) 5-6 garlic cloves or to taste, chopped
4) 5 tbsp of all-purpose flour
5) 5 tbsp of vegetable oil
6) 700 ml/23 fl oz of red wine
7) some salt and ground black pepper to taste
8) 1 tsp of coriander powder
9) 1/2 tsp of nutmeg powder
10) 1 tsp of ginger powder
11) 2-3 dried bay leaves
12) 1 kg/35 oz of dried plums

How to make the homemade beef stew recipe from scratch?

Beef Stew Recipe with Plum Wine Sauce

Step 1: cut the beef into medium pieces
Step 2: coat beef pieces with flour all over
Step 3: fry the beef in hot oil until golden
Step 4: do add chopped onions and garlic, then simmer them for 10 minutes or until soft
Step 5: reduce temperature to low and pour the wine
Step 6: season with salt and ground pepper to taste
Step 7: flavor with coriander powder
Step 8: flavor with nutmeg powder
Step 9: flavor with ginger powder
Step 10: flavor with dried bay leaves
Step 11: do add plums and lukewarm water if needed
Step 12: simmer the beef stew until lowers and the meat is very tender
