➑️ Tips for cooking cheese French fries πŸ”Ž

Probably, French fries are today the most popular side dishes all over the world. They get very popular after fast-food spread throughout the planet and became today the preferred food of teens and young people.

French fries are also very popular because they go very well with any type of fried meat. Those who do not eat meat can serve them with green salads or various sauces, the most popular of which are ketchup and mayonnaise.

One of the most popular French fries recipes is cheese French fries. This appeared from the desire to make potatoes tastier by adding new flavors and even to create a complete menu because the recipe can be used to cook the main meal for those who want to eat lighter lunch or dinner.

Cooking cheese French fries is a breeze for anyone. You don’t need any special skill or previous cooking experience to make this dish! It’s very simple and doesn’t require much time, so you should include it as soon as possible in your preferred recipe list!

Being very simple, there are no secrets to reveal about cheese French fries. Just follow the instructions in the video and you will get the best possible results even if you are not an experienced chef.

I will just emphasize that it is very important not to mix the potatoes during frying, to drain them well of oil when you take them out of the pan, and not to cover the bowl in which you keep them while you make the sauce because they will soften from the steam.

As for the cheese sauce, it is vital to mix it all the time, to add VERY hot milk in small quantities, so that it has time to combine with the rest of the ingredients and to obtain a fine sauce, without lumps.

By the way, when you cook cheese French fries you can use any matured cheese, I most often use mozzarella or parmesan.

Did You Know? Health Benefits

French fries, or simply fries (North American English), chips (British and Commonwealth English, Hiberno-English),[1] finger chips (Indian English),[2] or French-fried potatoes, are batonnet or allumette-cut deep-fried potatoes.

French fries are served hot, either soft or crispy, and are generally eaten as part of lunch or dinner or by themselves as a snack, and they commonly appear on the menus of diners, fast food restaurants, pubs, and bars. They are usually salted and, depending on the country, might be served with ketchup, vinegar, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, or other local specialties. Fries can be topped more heavily, as in the dishes of poutine or chili cheese fries. Chips can be made from sweet potatoes instead of potatoes. A baked variant, oven chips, use less oil or no oil.[3]

Although French fries were a popular dish in most British Commonwealth countries, the “thin style” French fries have been popularized worldwide in large part by the large American fast-food chains such as McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s.[57] In the United States, the J. R. Simplot Company is credited with successfully commercializing French fries in frozen form during the 1940s.

Subsequently, in 1967, Ray Kroc of McDonald’s contracted the Simplot company to supply them with frozen fries, replacing fresh-cut potatoes. In 2004, 29% of the United States’ potato crop was used to make frozen fries – 90% consumed by the food services sector and 10% by retail.[58] The United States is also known for supplying China with most of their French fries as 70% of China’s french fries are imported.[59][44]

Did You Know? Health Benefits

Potatoes are a good source of fiber, which can help you lose weight by keeping you full longer. Fiber can help prevent heart disease by keeping cholesterol and blood sugar levels in check. Potatoes are also full of antioxidants that work to prevent diseases and vitamins that help your body function properly.

Digestive Health

The fiber found in potatoes is a special type called β€œresistant starch,” which has the health benefits of both soluble fiber and insoluble fiber and causes less gas than other types of fiber. You can up the amount of resistant starch in potatoes by cooking them a day ahead of time and cooling them in the fridge overnight. Feel free to reheat them before you eat.

Like soluble fiber, the resistant starch in potatoes acts as a prebiotic – food for good bacteria in the large intestine that improves gut health. Like insoluble fiber, it can prevent or treat constipation and irritable bowel syndrome.

Disease Prevention

Potatoes are packed with antioxidants β€” compounds that fight free radicals from causing damage to your cells. A diet high in antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables lowers your risk of heart disease and cancer.

Lower Blood Pressure

Baked potato skin is a great source of potassium and magnesium. When you don’t have enough potassium in your diet, your body retains extra sodium, and too much sodium raises your blood pressure. A potassium-rich diet can help decrease blood pressure, protecting the heart, and reducing the risk of stroke.
