Classic Chicken Alfredo Pasta
Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper, to taste
- chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour the heavy cream into the skillet and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the cheese has melted.
- Slice the cooked chicken breasts into thin strips
- Add the cooked fettuccine pasta and sliced chicken to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta and chicken with the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
- Serve the Chicken Alfredo Pasta immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Cooking Tips for the Best Results:
- Cook the pasta until al dente, as it will continue to cook slightly in the sauce.
- Season the chicken breasts well before cooking to enhance their flavor.
- For a healthier twist, you can use whole wheat fettuccine pasta or substitute half of the heavy cream with low-fat milk or sour cream.
- Feel free to add additional vegetables to the dish, such as sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or sun-dried tomatoes, to add extra flavor and texture.
- Adjust the consistency of the sauce by adding more cream if you prefer a creamier texture or simmering for longer to thicken it further.
