What ingredients do I need for the chicken and green bean casserole?

String Beans for Cooking Classic Green Bean Casserole

1) 1.5 kg/50 oz of skinless boneless chicken breast
2) 5-6 garlic cloves or to taste
3) 150 g/5 oz of red onion
4) 2 tbsp of sunflower oil
5) salt and ground black pepper to taste
6) 250 g/9 oz of canned peeled chopped tomatoes
7) 2 kg/70 oz of frozen or fresh green beans
8) some sour cream for serving
9) some chopped parsley to taste

How to make chicken and green bean casserole from scratch?

Step 1: cut the chicken breast into pieces
Step 2: finely chop the garlic
Step 3: finely chop the red onion
Step 4: pour oil into the pot
Step 5: put the chicken breast in the pot over high temperature
Step 6: season with salt and pepper to taste
Step 7: do add onion and garlic when the chicken breast has turned white
Step 8: reduce the heat and add the tomatoes
Step 9: add the green beans to the pot
Step 10: pour water and put a lid on the pot
Step 11: cook the food for 30-40 minutes
Step 12: serve the green bean casserole with chicken breast
Step 13: add some sour cream to taste on top
Step 14: sprinkle some chopped parsley to taste

➡️ Green beans are one of my favorite vegetables. As a result, I often cook it, both when I have at disposal fresh green beans during summer and frozen green beans in wintertime. In addition, I use green beans and yellow wax beans because both are great to taste!

➡️ The dishes I cook with green or yellow beans, as the case may be, include stew, casserole, and soup but also appetizer salads with or without mayonnaise or Greek yogurt.

➡️ Chicken breast is another highly prized ingredient in my family. My daughter especially loves it, so I came up with the idea of cooking a dish that includes both green beans and boneless chicken breast.

➡️ For this recipe, I recommend French green beans, called also string beans because the yellow one (wax bean) fits better with the pork in my opinion. However, you can also use this one if you like it more or if you have it at your disposal exclusively.

➡️ The recipe itself is very easy to cook as it is a British casserole or American stew. The preparation time of the ingredients is short, as is the cooking because both the green beans and the chicken breast are tender quickly.
