Most often I use it as a side dish along with fried meat such as schnitzel, roast, or grill. Plus, it’s simply heavenly served next to barbecue grilled chicken!
This recipe is of French inspiration. The peas are simmered first to become tender (read below more about simmering). Then, I prepare a classic Bechamel sauce with milk and sour cream in which I add the softened peas. Finally, I add a generous amount of chopped fresh parsley for more vitamins and flavor!

A thing that is very important when cooking this creamed peas recipe is to use hot milk when you prepare the sour cream sauce. If the milk is cold, it will form lumps that you will not be able to eliminate from the food! So, heat the milk up until it gets hot just before you start making the Bechamel sauce.
Another secret I reveal to you is that you can use other aromatic herbs instead of parsley. The best ones are dill, coriander, mint, and basil.
