Final Notes for the Pan-Fried Sauerkraut Recipe

➡️ The delicious sour cabbage is often used in my kitchen from autumn until late spring. I use it to prepare different food recipes of all kinds including soup, stew or goulash, casserole, side dishes, and even salad.

➡️ Certainly, each of you has a recipe for sour cabbage that you often prefer and cook. I really like all the recipes that contain this ingredient, so it would be hard for me to choose a favorite recipe! However, of the many recipes with sour cabbage I cook, I share on this page a very simple and quick one, which I call fried cabbage with sour cream. It’s really easy to cook and you only need about 15 minutes until you’re ready to serve it!

➡️ In my recipe, apart from thyme, I use coriander to add more flavor to the food, but you can use other seasonings instead, such as cumin or even ginger.

➡️ This pan-fried sour cabbage can be served as a main dish without any other ingredients, or it can be used as a side dish along with various roast types. For example, I really like to serve fried sausages, either fresh or smoked, next to this dish.

➡️ If you have a smoked ham shank on hand, I suggest you cook a roast in the oven and then serve it next to this creamy fried sauerkraut. Be careful not to overindulge because this combination of foods is so good that you will hardly stop eating!

➡️ Whether smoked meat or pork knuckle is not on your list of favorite foods, another suggestion is to prepare creamy sauerkraut and serve it with roast pork cooked on the stovetop. This dish is a real feast as well!

➡️ In case you don’t want to eat meat, you can just boil some potatoes and serve them with the fried pickled cabbage. You will definitely like this combination too!

➡️ Of course, many other combinations of delicious dishes are possible using this versatile creamy sauerkraut recipe. Which combination do you think is the most appropriate? Write in the comments section what is your opinion!
