Easy Deviled Eggs Recipe with Bacon or Ham

1) boil eggs until yolks are hard, then remove the shell, cut eggs lengthwise in two halves and separate yolks into a bowl
2) mash yolks with a fork
3) add mayonnaise and mustard
4) season yolks with salt and pepper to taste
5) add garlic powder
6) combine ingredients until you get a fine paste
7) cut bacon or ham into very small pieces, then add it to the bowl and mix ingredients by hand
8) fill boiled egg whites up with the previously prepared paste, then garnish eggs as desired
9) put stuffed eggs into the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving (recommended)

Deviled eggs are very popular cold appetizers and this recipe is one of the most delicious versions.

Furthermore, this classic recipe is very easy and quick. It doesn’t pose any difficulty, so everyone will be able to obtain great results even without any previous experience in making stuffed eggs or cold appetizers.

Regarding the used ham or bacon, I advise you to choose a smoked meat type because its aroma fits very well with the other ingredients used in this recipe. Of course, non-smoked ham types are also good if you don’t like the smoked flavor.

When I prepare this recipe, most often I use Prague ham or pressed ham. Prosciutto is another good option, but I recommend you to remove the fat and skin if they are present.

When I choose bacon for the recipe, I buy a drier type with less fat. Additionally, I remove the skin if needed.

A very important thing, no matter if you’re going to use ham or bacon, is to cut it into very small pieces. You can do this with a very sharp knife or even by using a kitchen robot. In this way, ham or bacon mixes well with egg yolks and the other ingredients and makes a smooth paste that is very pleasant when you serve the appetizer.

Another thing that I recommend is to prepare stuffed eggs with a couple of hours before serving them. This is important to allow some time to combine flavors better.

You can serve stuffed eggs plain, without sauce, or on a serving plate laying in mayonnaise sauce, sour cream sauce, tartar sauce or remoulade sauce, to name but a few options.

Furthermore, bacon or ham stuffed eggs can be served along with any other cold appetizers.

Stuffed eggs remain some of the most popular finger foods for a party even today. Besides this kind of use, they can be served to enjoy a quick breakfast if you prepare them with a day before. Additionally, stuffed eggs are a great choice for a snack when you donțt have too much time at disposal or you want simply to enjoy a quick and nourishing appetizer.
