How to Make Dill Cream Cheese Spread from Scratch
What ingredients do you need to make a homemade cream cheese spread?
1) 500 g/18 oz of ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
2) 4 tbsp of sour cream (12% fat)
3) a large bundle of green dill
4) 100 g/3.5 oz of green onions
5) some fine salt to taste
6) ground white pepper to taste (optional)
7) 1 tsp of garlic powder or 1-2 garlic cloves, grated (optional)
How to make dill cream cheese from scratch?
1) place the cheese into a bowl
2) add sour cream over the sweet cheese
3) chop the dill finely, then add it to the bowl
4) chop green onions and add them to the bowl
5) season the cheese spread with some salt to taste
6) for more flavor, add garlic and white pepper to taste
7) combine ingredients by hand for a rougher texture or by blender for a very fine texture
8) place the cheese spread into the fridge at least for 1 hour before serving to blend the flavors better (recommended)
