Pancakes are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a dessert after lunch or dinner. They’re easy to make, and a great way to add some flavor and nutrition to a meal.

On this page, I’m sharing a very fluffy pancake recipe made with all-purpose flour. These American pancakes are high in protein and provide a hearty breakfast that will keep you fuller for longer.

1) 350 g/12 oz of all-purpose flour
2) 15 g/0.5 oz of baking powder
3) a pinch of salt according to your taste
4) 1 tbsp of sugar
5) 300 ml/10 fl oz of milk
6) 1-2 eggs, depending on their size
7) 50 g/1.5 oz of butter
8) 1/2 tsp of cinnamon powder
9) 2-3 tbsp of vegetable oil with a neutral flavor for frying

American Pancakes

➡️ Eager to know how to make American pancakes? The recipe is very tasty and easy to cook, so I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Below are listed the steps required to make the fluffy pancake recipe.

Total Time: 20 minutes

1) Prepare the flour

Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, then add the salt and sugar over.

2) Complete the pancake batter

Heat the milk just to become lukewarm and melt the butter, then make a well in the center of the flour and pour in the milk and melted butter, add the egg, cinnamon powder, and combine all ingredients until you get a smooth batter.

3) Fry the pancakes

Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium-high temperature, pour or scoop about one-eighth of the batter, wait to brown on the bottom side (about 1 minute), flip the pancake and brown it evenly (about 30 seconds). Do the same with the rest of the batter, oil the pan every time before frying.

  • don’t use cold milk because it will inactivate the baking powder and the pancakes won’t be fluffy
  • if you have time, wait about 15 minutes after you make the batter because the pancakes will rise even more
  • if you don’t like cinnamon, you can completely remove it or replace it with other delicious flavors such as nutmeg or cardamom
  • do not fry the pancakes at too high a temperature as you risk burning them, it is best to set the stove to a medium-high temperature
  • turn the pancake when it is slightly golden at the bottom, if it is dark brown it means that it is already burnt and could have a bitter taste
  • serve the pancakes immediately as they’re ready to enjoy the fluffiest texture
