What ingredients do you need for the ham cabbage casserole? (10 servings)

Sweet Cabbage Heads

1) 1.5 kg/50 oz of fresh white cabbage
2) 300 g/10 oz of red onions, chopped
3) 3-5 cloves of garlic or to taste, chopped
4) 300 g/10 oz of carrots, grated
5) 1 bundle of fresh dill, chopped
6) 1 kg/35 oz of skinless boneless smoked ham, cut into medium cubes
7) some salt and black peppercorns to taste

How to make ham cabbage casserole from scratch in 7 steps?

Ham Cabbage Casserole

step 1: place the chopped cabbage into a large pot and pour over some water, then simmer it until the cabbage turns pretty soft (about 10 minutes)
step 2: add chopped onions and garlic to the pot
step 3: add the grated carrots and chopped dill to the pot
step 4: toss the smoked ham cubes in
step 5: pour some water into the pot until all ingredients are dipped
step 6: season with black peppercorn and salt to taste
step 7: mix ingredients and simmer the cabbage casserole until all ingredients are soft (about 30-40 minutes)

  • when you season the food, don’t forget that the ham also contains salt that you have to take into account
