Cold appetizers are very popular nowadays and are served both before the main meal and as simple and quick snacks between meals. In addition, they are the most appreciated party food by guests of all ages.
There are many types of cold appetizers and a good part of them contain cream cheese as the main ingredient. Details on what cream cheese is and its health benefits are available at the bottom of the page.
Cream cheese contains, in addition to fresh sweet cheese (most often, cow cheese) various other ingredients. On this page, I share with you the recipe I use to make ham cream cheese.
Ham and, in particular, smoked ham is an ingredient less used for the preparation of cream cheese spread. However, I warmly recommend it because it is very tasty and, in addition, very nutritious. I use it to make sandwiches for breakfast, but also to prepare various cold appetizers for parties such as cold stuffed peppers or cold stuffed tomatoes.
Ham cream cheese appetizers are really easy to make and don’t pose any difficulty to even less experienced people. Actually, making ham cream cheese appetizers is a breeze to anyone and will take you a very short time.
Despite their simplicity, ham cream cheese appetizers are extremely delicious and good-looking and, therefore, will attract all the eyes of your guests at the party or at the festive table.
There are not many secrets to share regarding the homemade ham cream cheese appetizers, given that they are very simple and contain few ingredients or preparation steps.
As such, I will emphasize only three things to have maximum success with your cold appetizer recipe preparation. The first is to use very fresh and high-quality sweet cottage cheese. Cottage cheese from a cow farm nearby is the most suitable, but you can also use another type of fresh cheese, even bought from the store, if it is fresh and does not contain much whey.
As for the ham, you can use any type of ham as long as it is not raw and does not contain fat. Most often, I use smoked pork pastrami or Prague ham, also called pressed ham.
Finally, I recommend that you do not store the ham cream cheese appetizers too much before serving, even if you keep them in the fridge, because the onion and parsley in the composition can produce fermentation in combination with fresh cheese and sour cream. At most, you can prepare these fabulous cold appetizers in the evening and serve them at the party or dinner the next day.
In addition to the above, I also inform you that you can make various types of ham cream cheese appetizers. The most common are cold stuffed peppers (just like in the video) or cold stuffed tomatoes, but you can also make roll-ups appetizers, appetizer baskets, canapés, and much more.

Cream cheese is a soft, usually mild-tasting fresh cheese made from milk and cream. Stabilizers such as carob bean gum and carrageenan are often added to industrial production.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration defines cream cheese as containing at least 33% milkfat with a moisture content of not more than 55%, and a pH range of 4.4 to 4.9. Similarly, under Canadian Food and Drug Regulations, cream cheese must contain at least 30% milkfat and a maximum of 55% moisture. In other countries, it is defined differently and may need a considerably higher fat content.Cream cheese (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_cheese)
