Homemade Garlic Bread with Parsley

Homemade garlic bread with parsley is a delicious and simple side dish that can elevate any meal. This classic bread is a favorite appetizer and is easy to make at home. The bread is typically made with a French or Italian loaf, garlic butter, and parsley. The result is a crispy and fragrant bread with a deliciously savory taste that is perfect for serving alongside pasta dishes, soups, or even grilled meats.
The key to making great homemade garlic bread is using high-quality ingredients. A good quality bread is essential for the best results. Fresh bread is the best choice for garlic bread, but if you're using a day-old loaf, it's best to toast it slightly before adding the garlic butter. The garlic butter is what gives this bread its distinctive flavor. It's made by combining softened butter, garlic, and fresh parsley. The butter should be at room temperature so that it's easy to mix. You can use fresh garlic or garlic powder, depending on your preference.
When it comes to serving the garlic bread, it's best to slice it all the way through and serve it immediately while it's still hot and crispy. You can serve it as a side dish or even as an appetizer. It pairs well with pasta dishes, soups, or salads. If you're looking to add some extra flavor to the garlic bread, you can sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese over the slices before baking.

  • Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over each slice of bread, making sure to cover it evenly.
  • Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for around 10-15 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and turn on the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes to get a crispy golden crust.
  • Slice the bread all the way through and serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

Cooking Tips:
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best results. Use fresh garlic instead of garlic powder if possible, and choose a good quality French or Italian loaf.
  • If you’re using a day-old loaf, toast it slightly before adding the garlic butter to help restore its crispiness.
  • Make sure the butter is at room temperature before mixing with the garlic and parsley to ensure that it mixes well and is easy to spread.
  • Wrap the bread in aluminum foil to keep it moist while baking,
  • Don’t skimp on the butter: The butter is what makes the garlic bread so deliciously rich and decadent, so don’t be afraid to use a generous amount. You can always use a bit less if you prefer, but don’t go too light on the butter or the bread may turn out dry and lackluster.
