Nowadays, appetizer recipes are very popular all over the world. This happens for several reasons and among the most important is the fact that they are delicious, easy to make and can be prepared with all kinds of ingredients, including some leftover from main meals.
A good example is this leftover chicken salad with sweet corn. Not infrequently, we cook chicken in the oven or grill and we have a lot left of it. Reheating it’s not one of the best options, nor is throwing it in the trash. Therefore, making sandwiches or appetizer salads is the right way to use fried chicken leftovers.
Preparing fried chicken and sweet corn salad is very easy, does not require much time or many expensive ingredients. All you have to do is chop a few ingredients, open a can of corn and add mayonnaise and sour cream and the appetizer is ready to serve.
By the way, this dish can be served not only as a cold appetizer, but it’s also perfect for a quick snack and even as the main meal for lunch or dinner when we do not have the time or desire to cook something more complex or time-consuming.
As a party food, this appetizer will be a great success because everyone likes fried chicken, sweet corn, and mayonnaise, right?
Even if the leftover chicken and corn salad can be served as soon as it’s ready, I recommend you put it in the fridge for a few hours to better combine the flavors of the ingredients.
Apart from the fact that everyone likes it and is easy to cook, chicken also offers many health benefits. Read some of them below.
The lean protein in chicken is an excellent source of amino acids. Our bodies use amino acids to build muscle tissue, something that is particularly important as we age. Studies have also shown that higher protein intake helps to maintain bone mineral density. Eating chicken can help to build stronger muscles and promote healthier bones, decreasing the risk of injuries and diseases such as osteoporosis.
Research suggests that 25-30 grams of protein per meal can help us feel more full. Protein rich meals can make us feel fuller despite us eating less, which helps to promote better weight management. Healthier weight leads to improvements in risk factors for heart problems such as high triglyceride levels and high blood pressure. A food rich in protein, chicken can help with weight management and reduce the risk of heart disease.Health Benefits of Chicken (https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-chicken#1)
