1) roast on the grill, bake in the oven or boil red beetroot in plain water until soft (about 30-60 minutes, depending on the method and size), then wait to cool and peel them off
2) cut beet into small pieces and place them into jars
3) place about 1 l/35 fl oz of cold water into a bowl
4) add some salt to taste
5) add sugar, vinegar, and horseradish according to your taste, then mix ingredients well
6) add cumin seeds to the dressing and mix again (optional)
7) pour dressing into the jar(s), seal it, place it into a cold place, and wait at least 48 hours before serving
For many people, beets are little known and therefore do not use them in the kitchen. This is probably due to the culinary habits of the area where they live. Indeed, red beets are not widely used in most Western cuisines.

On this page, I present a recipe for roasted beetroot salad that I prepare in late autumn and during the winter, seasons when red beets are abundant in the markets.
The main method of preparing beets for this beet salad recipe is by roasting on the grill. If this is not possible, then prepare it by baking beet in the oven or boiling it in water.
By far, my favorite method is baking in the oven because prepared in this way the beet is very sweet and consistent because it’s removed almost all the water from its composition. This method is time-consuming, so sometimes I choose to boil beets in water because of the much shorter interval required for cooking.
Whatever method you choose, beet salad will taste similar and be just as healthy.
Regarding the seasoning, the taste of the salad is a combination of sweet, sour, and spicy.
The predominant taste you prefer decides the amounts of sugar, vinegar, and horseradish you use. I have indicated the wide limits in which to use each of these ingredients and you can prepare the dressing exactly as you like.
In terms of storage, the salad should be kept in a cool place where the temperature does not exceed 20°C/68°F. An unheated pantry is perfect, but it can also be stored in the refrigerator if the ambient temperature is too high.
Properly stored, the red beetroot salad is good for consumption for at least a few weeks.
