What ingredients do you need for the turkey meatloaf recipe?

Ground Turkey

1) 2 kg/70 oz of ground turkey
2) 2-3 tbsp of breadcrumbs
3) 1 egg
4) 250 g/9 oz of dried cranberries
5) 50 g/2 oz of chives or green onions, finely chopped
6) 1/2 tbsp of dried tarragon
7) some salt and ground black pepper to taste
8) 1 tbsp of vegetable oil for brushing the pan

How to make a turkey meatloaf from scratch?

Ground Turkey Meatloaf with Cranberries

step 1: place breadcrumbs and the egg over the ground turkey
step 2: toss in the cranberries
step 3: toss in chopped chives
step 4: season with tarragon, salt, and pepper to taste
step 5: combine ingredients very well by hand
step 6: place the mixture into an oiled baking pan
step 7: press the meatloaf top to remove air, then bake it in the oven at 200C/390F until golden
step 8: take out the turkey meatloaf from the oven and allow it 30 min to cool before slicing

8 PRO Tips For The Cranberry Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

  • for the best results when cooking turkey meatloaf, use lean ground turkey only
  • if you don’t have dried cranberries at hand, you can replace them with dried blueberries or candied cherries
  • those who don’t like chives or green onions could use aromatic herbs such as dill, parsley, or even basil
  • mix the ingredients very well before placing the meatloaf into the baking pan
  • don’t forget to remove air from the composition before baking, you need just a few seconds but the result is very different
  • bake the turkey meatloaf in a loaf pan, its shape enables evenly cooking of the ground meat
  • when the meatloaf is golden on top, switch off the oven but let the pan inside and wait at least 30 minutes to cool before slicing to avoid breaking
  • turkey meatloaf slices can be served plain, but taste even better when served with a sauce like a cranberry sauce, mustard sauce, and so on
